Visit Shriners Children's Spokane

When visitors arrive, we're as happy to see them as the children are. Visitors can bring a smile to a patient's face and help them pass the time. But they can do more than that. Feeling supported by family and friends can also help enhance the healing process.

We ask that all guests, visitors and family members join us in creating a positive environment where hope and healing meet.

We routinely monitor updates and alerts from local health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are actively following their recommendations to ensure our facility remains a safe place for you, your child and others to receive care.

General Visiting Guidelines

To maintain a family-friendly, healing environment, we ask that all visitors respect the following guidelines:

• Parents and guardians may visit as often as they desire. Disclaimer: Rules are subject to change without notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have questions, please call the hospital ahead of your visit.
• For other visitors, regular visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Other guests will be limited to two (2) at any given time.
• Visitors (parents/guardians) must check in at the registration desk in the lobby with a valid state-issued identification, where they will be given bands to identify them as permitted visitors. Guests must wear visitor badges at all times while inside the facility.
• Family members are welcome to call patients, but please avoid calling after bedtime to minimize disruption of the child’s schedule.
• Because latex balloons can cause choking and an allergic response, they are not allowed in the building. Mylar balloons are allowed.

Gifts and Cards

Children and young adults love to receive gifts. Thanks to many Shriners (members of Shriners International) and friends of Shriners Children's, each patient usually receives a donated gift after surgery, as well as during holidays and on their birthday (if this occurs during their stay).

Friends or relatives who wish to send additional gifts, cards or flowers can send them to:

We suggest that you refrain from sending expensive gifts or gifts of money, as Shriners Children's Spokane accepts no responsibility for loss or damage. Bulletin boards are available to mount cards, posters, etc., in each patient room.

Food Service

Our cafeteria offers a variety of menu choices and child-friendly food items. Patients may call nutrition services to place a food order and have the option to order from a room service menu.

Inpatients may also request food items on the nursing snack list from the nursing staff any time they desire. The kitchen staff respects the food preferences, allergies, cultural and religious dietary restrictions of our inpatients.

Family members and visitors are welcome to purchase meals in our cafeteria. Room service and the cafeteria hours will be explained in detail upon admission.

A vending machine offering beverages and snacks is available in the cafeteria 24 hours a day.
