Patient Rights and Organizational Ethics

Washington State Department of Health Patient Rights and Organizational Ethics

Per the Washington Department of Health, the purpose of this section is to improve patient care and outcomes by respecting every patient and maintaining ethical relationships with the public.

Hospitals must adopt and implement policies and procedures that define each patient's right to be treated and cared for with dignity and respect and provide confidentiality, privacy, security, complaint resolution, spiritual care, and communication.

These policies will be posted to the hospital’s own website where they are readily accessible to the public, without requiring a login or other restrictions.
