ATM

There is an ATM located in the hospital’s main lobby.

Internet Access & Computer Use

You can access the internet through the Patient and Family Access Network (PFA). Just ask a staff member how to login from your phone or personal computer. There are computers available for internet access in the Patient Activity Mall.

Interpretation Services

Our caring interpreters allow you to understand all aspects of your child’s care and help your child feel more comfortable. We have Spanish interpreters on-site and use on-demand interpreters in-person or in video chats for Spanish and Polish, as well as other languages. Learn more about our interpreter services.

Please dial 800-320-6741. An interpreter will pick up the phone and will connect you with a hospital operator.

Ask the operator to connect you with a specific department or staff member. The interpreter will stay on the line with you to do the interpretation.

If you are calling to make an appointment, have the patient’s full name and date of birth at hand.

Overnight Accommodations

Should you need to stay near our hospital or have a child staying overnight in the hospital, we have care managers to assist you with arrangements. We realize your presence during your child’s stay at the hospital is very reassuring, so we encourage one parent or guardian to stay at the bedside. We provide a single bed, bed linens and shower facilities for the parent who  is staying.

All incoming mail for patients should be sent to:

Outgoing mail can be sent using the mailbox located at the entrance of the hospital. Arrangements can be made through the nursing/materials management department for mailing larger packages. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the parent/patient. Mail received after a patient is discharged will be forwarded to the home address of the patient.

Parking

Parking is available during appointments and hospital stays at no charge in the visitor parking lot in front of our hospital.

Play Areas

Our play areas include the Ballreich patient activity mall, an outdoor accessible playground and an inpatient playroom. We also have a Teen Lounge with video gaming and board games.

Recreation

Our Patient Activity Mall features a wheelchair-friendly basketball court, bags, air hockey, and other games. Our hospital backyard has a walking track, water features and sensory gardens with seating available to help parents and guardians coping with a hospital stay.

Telephones are available in each patient room. These phones are restricted to incoming calls only. For the comfort of other patients, we request that all calls are made before 8 p.m. An exception may be made for calls outside the United States due to time zone differences. Charges for all calls made by patients/parents are the responsibility of the patient/parent.

Cell phone use may be restricted in patient care areas.

Security

The security team provides on-site service 24 hours a day. If you have safety concerns or would like a security escort to your vehicle, please call

773-622-5400 and ask for security. Press “0” or visit the main desk in the hospital lobby if you need help while in the hospital building.
