Shriners Children’s colorectal surgeons use this procedure to repair anorectal malformations in some children by surgically creating the child’s anus within the sphincter muscle.

Primary & Secondary Pull Through for Hirschsprung Disease

To fix intestinal obstruction caused by Hirschsprung's disease, the pull-through surgical procedure removes the diseased section of the intestine and pulls the healthy portion down to the anus.
