Shriners Children's provides growing rods for children who have not reached skeletal maturity. They are placed along the spine to correct a spinal curve and allow continued growth of the spine.

Splinting

Customized splinting is a common treatment at Shriners Children's for a variety of orthopedic conditions and injuries. From hands to arms to feet, our specialists will create the best splint to meet your child's needs.

Wheelchair & Seating

Shriners Children's wheelchair, seating and mobility program is a custom seating clinic available to children with seating needs. Practitioners, technicians and volunteers use tools like seat simulation, pressure mapping and hands on adjustments.

Pressure Injuries

A pressure injury is damaged skin typically over a bony area or medical device. People with decreased sensation or who can’t reposition themselves are at greater risk. We treat with dressings, negative pressure therapy and surgery.

COVID-19 Restrictions and Recreational Youth Sports

In California, youth recreational sports are still on pause for much of the state. While guidelines released back in August 2020 allow recreational sports to conduct modified skill-building conditioning and training, full-contact and normal competitive matches are still on hold.
