Music therapy is an important part of the wrap-around care your child may receive during their visit at Shriners Children’s.

At Shriners Children’s, we understand that your child’s emotional well-being is just as important as their physical needs. Our pediatric-trained music therapists are here to provide emotional support to your child during their stay at the hospital.

Our music therapists tailor each session to fit whatever your child’s needs are at the time. Music therapy can help provide comfort during a procedure, act as a distraction to help with pain management, or to improve your child’s sleeping patterns. Music therapy also helps build social skills, improve communication, and helps with impulse control. Overall, our music therapists are here to make sure your child has a positive experience at the hospital, all while giving them the opportunity to express themselves.

Our music therapists work directly with your child's care team to understand their individual goals and monitor their progress. Each session is then personalized to address those goals through a musical lens.

Specific treatments and services may vary by location. Please contact a specific location for more information.

I like music therapy because they play songs that I know on the guitar.
