Biography
David Westberry, M.D., is chief of staff at Shriners Children’s Greenville. He previously served as medical director of the hospital’s motion analysis center, as well as leader of the limb deficiency program.
Dr. Westberry, a graduate of the University of Georgia and Medical College of Georgia, grew up in the small town of Jesup, Georgia, and was exposed to the field of orthopedic surgery by a local surgeon in the area. During his residency, Dr. Westberry felt fortunate to spend a part of his training at Shriners Children's Greenville, where he was able to not only witness the work of skilled providers but also learn about the mission of the institution.
Dr. Westberry says that treatment provided in the United States can be transferred to children in other parts of the world. As Shriners Children’s expands its care to “more kids in more places,” he has provided orthopedic treatment and shared medical knowledge with others in countries with more challenging circumstances.
