John Schulz, M.D., Ph.D.'s experiences as a surgery resident at Shriners Children's Boston were foundational for him, as they led him to make burn care the center of his subsequent career. He has done general surgery, trauma, emergency surgery and surgical critical care in addition to burn care, but burn care has always been his touchstone. Dr. Schulz believes that for those who care for burned children, there is nothing like seeing children who were once desperately in need of care coming back into the clinic, walking, talking, playing and laughing. Dr. Schulz says he wouldn't trade it for anything.
