Constantin Stanciu, M.D., FRCS(c)'s uncle, who was a family doctor, got him interested in medicine. During his medical studies, Dr. Stanciu became interested in surgery and orthopedics. Pediatric hand and upper limb especially caught his attention. He was then a fellow in France in pediatric hand and upper extremity at Trousseau Hospital in Paris. He studied obstetrical palsy and congenital differences of the upper limb. For 20 years, he has worked in upper limb clinics. He finds it very gratifying to watch children adapt and function so well.
