Biography
Frank Rauch, M.D., grew up in Bavaria, Germany, and went to medical school in Munich, Germany and Lausanne, Switzerland. He has always been interested in science. What he found fascinating about medicine is that he could directly use his research to make a difference to people's lives. During his pediatric residency in Cologne, Germany, he joined the successful bone research group at that hospital and over time he became a specialist of bone diseases in children. After he finished his pediatric training, Dr. Rauch decided to go to the best place where he could combine clinical pediatrics and research on bone diseases in children. Shriners Children's was the obvious place to go. Dr. Rauch joined Shriners Children's Canada in 2001, and has been working in the area of metabolic bone diseases in children ever since.
