Speaker 1:
My daughter Heidi is 7 years old, and she came to Shriners Hospital in December last year. Heidi had a third degree burn to her back after she was in an accident at a birthday party.

Speaker 2:
I mean, there's nothing worse than seeing your child in pain. And the minute we were admitted to Shriner's Children's, I was instantly impressed with the compassion, the competency. All of my concerns were put at ease. It takes a very incredible place to be able to make the darkest hour. How moments of pure enjoyment. I mean, I remember going down with Heidi with her two siblings, and we would play competitions with the hoops.

Speaker 1:
Shriners became our home. It was remarkable because it was the weeks leading up to Christmas and being away for the holidays is hard for any child. But downstairs there was a dozen different themed Christmas trees and she loved to see them. And I felt like the spirit of Christmas was alive here. Shriners Children's means the world to me, and they took care of my baby when she needed the help the most. And even though she's been home for months, we're still coming back and getting laser surgeries and they're still taking care of her. I know that they're going to continue to. They say that they take care of her until she's 18, which just gives me a peace of mind knowing that she's always going to be with the best.

Speaker 2:
Thank you, Doctor, for helping me.
