The Season of Giving at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Canada
Idriss and his new friends from the Montreal Canadiens hockey team.
The wonderful season of giving is back in full swing at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Canada. Over the past couple of years, there were many changes in protocols and guidelines surrounding the pandemic, which sadly meant that the hospital could not welcome as many visitors in to see our patients. This year was extra special as the Canada Shriners Hospital welcomed many familiar and new faces back to its halls for the holidays.
The season was kicked off by a visit from the Montreal Alouettes Canadian Football team, who visited the rooms of all our inpatients with gifts in hand. The team has been visiting our patients for years, and patients and families (sports fans or not) are always so appreciative of the positive energy and spirit the players bring.
Another exciting visit came from none other than the Montreal Canadiens hockey team. Patients, families and staff were all thrilled to welcome four of the team’s players. The Canadiens made sure to connect with our patients virtually last year, but the excitement and joy they brought with them in person this year was unparalleled.
There was no shortage of toys for Christmas this year! So many thoughtful donors brought an abundance of gifts for kids of all ages. Whether it was a toy drive, a fundraiser or a personal collection of toys, our patients were the lucky recipients of an astounding amount of generosity.
