Inpatient Care Team Receives 2020 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award

Congratulations to the staff at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago for winning the 2020 Press Gainey Guardian of Excellence Award® for Patient Experience in Inpatient Pediatric Care. This marks the third win for the inpatient care team in the last five years.

The award is managed by by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., a health care performance improvement organization. Patient families receive a survey from Press Ganey following each hospital visit and after most clinic visits. The Guardian of Excellence award recognizes that our hospital reached at least the 95th percentile in patient experience for each reporting period during the award year.

The Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago inpatient care team practices compassionate, family-centered care for a wide range of unique physical conditions. Parents and caregivers are brought into the care team from the beginning with a multidisciplinary medical team. Families also have resources available ranging from social work and psychological services to recreational therapy and on-site rehabilitation services.

The Chicago Shriners Hospital is part of the Shriners Hospitals for Children health care system with locations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Ten locations received Press Ganey recognition this year for providing high-quality patient experience.
