While each has its own area of responsibility, such as operations or finance, the Joint Boards meet and work together to oversee the many aspects of the healthcare system. The members of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees are highly accomplished leaders with diverse experience and knowledge, which strengthens their ability to guide an international organization. The Joint Boards also typically meet jointly with the Board of Directors of Shriners International, the fraternity that founded the healthcare system. Every member of these three boards is a Shriner, dedicated to the generous, compassionate mission of Shriners Children’s.
The leadership team, which includes representatives of various departments of Shriners Children’s, also guides the healthcare system. These insightful, highly qualified and motivated professionals implement the decisions and directives of the Joint Boards, helping everyone in the organization focus on the mission of Shriners Children's.
