She provides comprehensive medical care, often with the participation of the excellent Shriners Children's multi-disciplinary team, for children with these complex rheumatologic illnesses, improving their quality of life.
Dr. Wagner-Weiner is an active clinical researcher who participates in national and international studies which strive to improve the care of children with rheumatic diseases. She is involved in studies that examine responses to biologic medications in children and adolescents with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). She is a leader in a multi-center research project designed to assess and improve the medical management and care of children with vasculitis. Along with her research and clinical work, Dr. Wagner-Weiner is also a national educator, regularly lecturing on pediatric rheumatic diseases. She serves as a reviewer for several medical journals, including the Pediatric Rheumatology Journal.
