Dr. Umer is a pediatric rheumatologist at Shriners Children's Shreveport. She earned her medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, followed by an internship and residency training in internal medicine/pediatrics at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. She then completed a fellowship in adult rheumatology at LSUHSC, as well as an additional fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.

Joining the medical team at Shriners Children's Shreveport in 2014, Dr. Umer provides consultations for a variety of rheumatic conditions including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, pediatric lupus, vasculitis and auto inflammatory syndromes. In addition to her role at Shriners Children's Shreveport, Dr. Umer serves as associate professor of medicine-clinical at the Center for Excellence in Arthritis and Rheumatology at LSU Health Shreveport.

Dr. Umer enjoys travel, reading, volunteer service and spending time with her husband and two sons.
