Children's bones are very active and constantly undergoing growth as a result of building and remodeling their skeleton. This is a fascinating process and Lindsey Nicol, M.D., wants to help children obtain the best bone health possible because what happens to their bones now will affect them the rest of their lives. Dr. Nicol is a pediatric endocrinologist, and she works at Shriners Children's to help diagnose bone diseases in children and treat bone fragility disorders. Her goals are to reduce the number of childhood fractures in children with underlying bone diseases and help children grow.

Dr. Nicol came to Shriners Children's because she was drawn to the collaborative nature of working on a team with multiple pediatric experts (orthopedic surgeons, geneticists, neurologists and occupational and physical therapists). Together we have built a place were children in our region can see a comprehensive bone team. She loves working in our bone clinics. Dr. Nicol feels like she is always learning from her colleagues and appreciates that they are all so motivated to help our patients.
