Alexis McQuitty, M.D.'s experiences with Shriners Children's began in 2003, predominantly with burn and reconstructive surgery care. This patient care made her proud be a physician. Trained as a cardiac anesthesiologist, she has been working with many Shriners Children's patients with critical illnesses in the operating rooms and the intensive care unit (also providing cardiac care/echocardiography when needed). Dr. McQuitty is grateful to be part of the Shriners Children's team of amazing surgeons, nurses and technicians. Because Shriners Children's cares for patients from all over the world, Dr. McQuitty loves to learn about the patient's hometown, favorite food and culture to get to know them better.
Our team in Galveston, Texas is excited for the future. Our anesthesiology physicians and chief cRNA will provide perioperative care for burns, craniofacial cases, orthopedic surgery, general pediatric surgery and scar/reconstructive cases. Galveston Island is beautiful, and we hope our patients' families will enjoy the view from the 7th floor. Dr. McQuitty enjoys walking on the beach for exercise and underwater photography in her occasional time off.
