Jennifer Kyllo, M.D., became interested in medicine when she was fairly young. She has always been interested in science. Growing up, her father shared stories about his work at Mayo Clinic, inspiring her interest in a medical career. She chose to study endocrinology because she wanted a specialty where communication and storytelling would be an important part of her work. She also wanted to go into a field that would continuously challenge her, which she also found in endocrinology and hormone pathways. Dr. Kyllo was drawn to pediatrics for several reasons, probably the most important is that children are always cheerful, no matter what their life holds, and working at Shriners Children's has allowed her to play a meaningful role in helping patients grow and become their best selves.
