She then attended Albany Medical College where she obtained an M.D., and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she received an MPH.

In college, she traveled to Cambodia where she worked with orphans living on a buddhist commune. Back in the states, she volunteered as a court appointed special advocate for foster children. Dr. Badkoobehi then traveled to Durban, South Africa and shadowed an orthopaedic surgeon who provided care to an at-risk community. After medical school, she volunteered and researched at HEAL Africa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There she volunteered with an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Jo Lusi, who provided care to adults and children after the Rwandan Genocide. It was through all of these experiences that she found her passion in treating children.

Dr. Badkoobehi practices at Shriners Children's Southern California. She is the chief of pediatric orthopedic surgery at Harbor-UCLA. She serves as the orthopaedic surgery residency program director at Harbor-UCLA.

Dr. Badkoobehi's interests include pediatric orthopedic trauma, spinal deformity, hip disorders, limb deformity and neuromuscular conditions.

In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family.
