Shriners Children’s Spokane has come a long way since 1924.

In the hospital’s first year of service, we treated 115 patients. A century later, we now care for close to 9,000 kids and their families annually through the hospital and six regional outreach clinics, bringing care closer to the families who need us.

What began as a 20-bed wing to treat polio has expanded into a premier pediatric orthopedic specialty care provider with outreach clinics in Washington, Montana, Alaska and Arizona.

While we have grown, one thing has always remained the same: our commitment to improving the lives of children and caring for their overall health and well-being.

Whether our patients have scoliosis, fractures, sports injuries or complex disorders, we understand that each child’s journey is unique, and the best approach for treatment is entirely dependent on the patient.

As Shriners Children’s Spokane embarks on the next 100 years, we take time to reflect on our legacy, celebrate the work we’ve done to get us where we are today, and envision where we want to go in the future.

And we’re proud to know that this is just the beginning.

Celebrating a Century of Care Telethon

To serve as a testament to the shining successes of the last 100 years of care, Shriners Children’s Spokane held the Celebrating a Century of Care Telethon on Wednesday, Dec. 4 on Spokane’s KREM 2 station.

The telethon was an evening of reflection, pride and celebration as viewers learned about the hospital, our history and mission, the amazing patients at Shriners Children's Spokane, and the region's Shriners who set out to help children back in 1924.

Powered by the El Katif Shriners, we raised funds for the hospital and kicked off the next 100 years of care. With the support of generous sponsors and donors, we initially raised over $110,000 to help provide the most amazing care anywhere to even more kids in even more places. And in just one hour, we raised an additional $16,000!

We are truly grateful for the support from donors, Shriners and everyone who contributed to this event.

If you would like to help us continue the mission of care into the next century, please visit our donation portal and give today. We encourage you to be part of a long-standing legacy to help make a difference in the lives of children!
