Shriners Children’s Celebrates Children on Their Day
At Shriners Hospitals for Children — Mexico, we recently celebrated Children's Day. We collected toys throughout the month of April to distribute to our patients.
Thanks to the support of our Shriners, volunteers and the community at large, we were able to reach the toy collection goal. The toys were distributed to all patients who had appointments on those days.
In addition, we received a donation of 500 donuts from Krispy Kreme. Mr. Alimentos’ company supported us by donating gummy candies and sweets for our patients. Also, thanks to a donation, we were able to give out ice pops to the attendees. It was the perfect formula for our patients to have a happy moment as they left the hospital.
Shriners Hospital staff joined in the spirit by wearing costumes that reminded them of their childhood. We were joined by characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Spider-Man and many others.
A Surprise Visit
We were honored to receive a special visit from the cheerleaders of the Arizona Cardinals football team, who were accompanied by the team's beloved mascot, Big Red. They generously brought a variety of items, including footballs, caps, T-shirts and face masks, which brought great joy to our patients and their families.
At the end of the event, over 800 patients took a toy home and were happy to be celebrated on such a special day.
We would like to thank all the individuals, companies and volunteers who supported us and made this event possible.
