Employees Donate Winter Weather Gear

Employee Engagement Council Leads Initiative to Collect 266 Items for Those in Need

In January, the Employee Engagement Council at Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center — Lexington collected winter weather gear. The items, which included things like coats, hats, boots and blankets, were donated during the last two weeks of the month by medical center employees and will be given to the Catholic Action Center in Lexington to be distributed to those in need.

“The Employee Engagement Council has a mission to have our employees become more involved with our community,” said Katy Marcum, a member of the council. “The winter weather gear donation drive was a way for our staff to come together to do something good for our community. We’re thankful for the response to the drive and are excited to be able to donate so many items to those in need.”
