Kids treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California are the beneficiaries of a $350,000 donation presented to the hospital on May 23, 2016. The gift is from the estate of E. Nadine Lanier, who insisted that her donation exclusively benefit the Northern California Shriners Hospitals for Children located in Sacramento.
Mrs. Lanier and her husband, Clarence Arthur (Art) Lanier were lifelong educators who saved throughout their lives. They had no heirs. Mrs. Lanier worked at Antioch Junior High School before beginning a post-retirement career of restoring properties for sale. She enjoyed this successful chapter of her life and was always scouting the next house project.
The donation was presented by William Hayes and his wife, Joan, who were joined by their granddaughters, Christy and Erin Hayes. Joan Hayes worked for Mrs. Lanier at Antioch Junior High and served as her estate trustee. Mr. Hayes is a member of the El Bekal Shrine.
The recent gift of $350,000 brings the total donation from the Lanier estate to $1.75 million.
