SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Inspired by a desire to enrich the lives of children, Dawn and James Gately presented Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California with a check for $25,000 on May 14. The donation was made on behalf of The Gately Foundation, a private family foundation based in Sacramento devoted to enhancing the health and vitality of the community.

“A gift of $25,000 has a big impact,” says Alan Anderson, Director of Development, at the Northern California Shriners Hospital. “It can provide equipment for one complex spine surgery or put a child on the road to independence by covering the cost of a state-of-the-art, high-tech prosthetic limb. While all donations support the hospital in its mission to transform the lives of children through comprehensive, complex and compassionate care, it is important to remember that every gift directly impacts the lives of children served by our hospital,” says Anderson. “We are extremely grateful to the Gatelys for their generosity.”

The Gately Foundation pledged $25,000 to Shriners Hospital as part of the BIG Day of Giving that took place in the Sacramento region on May 5.

The Gately Foundation supports the Northern California community through grants that advance medical science, education and charitable activities, enrich the lives of children and further programs for animal protection. To learn more about the foundation go online to
