“Our goal is to help make a child’s hospital experience positive – not scary,” says Shanda Pierce, who owns and operates 21 Spirit Halloween stores in Northern California. “The hospital therapeutic recreation and child life program provides opportunities for play and self-expression that help children be kids even when they are hospitalized, and we are proud to help support those opportunities.”

Spirit of Children brings fun and funding to local hospitals at Halloween and all year round. Their mission is to make hospitals less scary for kids and their families through support of the Child Life department at partner hospitals in our local communities.
Since 2007, we’ve successfully collected over $54 million in cash and merchandise to support the efforts of Child Life Specialists who effect therapeutic and emotional healing while doctors and nurses focus on medical treatment.
