Nine “mommy bloggers” and their children discovered how prevention is the best medicine when they visited Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California on Tuesday, July 14. The moms and their 22 children participated in On Track for a Safe Summer, an interactive event designed to promote water safety, fire safety, and playground safety.
Children enjoyed a series of interactive prevention stations while their mothers reported what they learned on their blogs, allowing families near and far to benefit from the group’s experiences.
Prevention safety tips and photographs are posted on the Shriners Hospitals for Children website.
According to Safe Kids U.S., serious injuries increase dramatically among children in the summer months. Many of these injuries may be preventable, and the On Track for a Safe Summer event is designed to encourage families to discuss safety and prevention in person and on line.
