Celebrating 20 Years With Walk for Love on Saturday, June 3

Lace up your sneakers, round up your family and friends and join the community in celebrating the 20th anniversary of Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California on Saturday, June 3. Friends of Shriners Hospital will gather in Sacramento to participate in a Walk for Love. Speed walkers are welcome, but it is okay to leave your stopwatch at home.  The Walk for Love is all about entertainment, participation and supporting the Sacramento area’s only stand-alone children’s hospital.

The event celebrates the 20th anniversary of the formal dedication of the hospital that took place in June 1997.

The 1.5 mile fun walk takes participants on a morning stroll that begins and ends at the Shriners Hospital in Sacramento, where all invited to enjoy a Shrine Day celebration featuring plenty of food, fun and entertainment.

The official start time is 10 a.m.   Shriners will lead the “parade”, followed by patients, families and supporters of Sacramento’s only stand-alone children’s hospital. Shrine clowns, Keystone Cops, bands and others will provide entertainment.  Fezzy, the Shrine mascot, will greet kids of all ages, and Fezzy’s Rescue Squad will host a kids clinic designed especially for stuffed animals.

All who register for the walk will receive a Walk for Love t-shirt along with fun and memories to last a lifetime.
