Count on Sea World to make a big splash. Kids were all smiles when Pete and Penny Penguin arrived in the play area at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California on Thursday, May 19. They were joined by a black-and-white lemur, a screech owl and a baby alligator. It was all part of a special visit from the animal ambassadors from Sea World San Diego, a marine park devoted to education, entertainment, research and conservation. As ambassadors introduced the animals, they explained what made each of the animals unique. The Sea World ambassadors are among the many special guests who visit Shriners Hospital each year to brighten the lives of children being treated for orthopaedic conditions, spinal cord injuries, burns, and other complex surgical needs.
