Coins and Causes Event Organizers Present Shriners Hospital with a Big Check

Representatives from Entercom Sacramento took a break from the airwaves to join Coins and Causes partners F&M Bank, and McCoy|fatula, at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California on Thursday, July 23. The visit brought smiles and applause from staff and volunteers as the special guests presented the hospital with a $2,576.45 donation.

The proceeds were raised during the Coins and Causes radio fundraiser on July 14, when Entercom radio’s The Eagle 96.9 and ESPN 1320 invited listeners to support Shriners Hospitals for Children by donating their change. Alan Anderson, Director of Development, accepted the “check” on behalf of the hospital.

“This is an example of how many people coming together in a small way can make a big difference in the lives of others,” said Anderson.  “We are very grateful to Entercom Radio, F&M Bank, McCoy|fatula and other event sponsors for engaging the community in a positive way and coming together to help the kids at Shriners Hospital.”

The July 14 Coins and Causes event was promoted on the radio all day as Sacramento’s 96.9 The Eagle and ESPN 1320 told listeners how their contributions to Shriners Hospital could make a positive difference in the lives of children. Listeners were invited to drop their change at one of three locations, where they were treated to either a free breakfast provided by Taco Bell, or lunch, provided by McDonald’s, or a dinner snack, provided by Texas Roadhouse.

The donation supports Shriners Hospitals for Children in providing expert care to children with orthopaedic conditions, spinal cord injuries, burns, cleft lip, scars from any cause and other complex surgical needs regardless of the family’s ability to pay.
